Read Scripture: Philippians 3

Read Scripture: Philippians 3 (NIV)
Day one

7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ-the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ-yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

1st Reading: What is one word or phrase the Holy Spirit impresses on you? Meditate on that.

I want to know Christ

2nd Reading: Enter into the Scripture passage. What do you feel? What specific situation in your life today relates? Write down a prayer or pray quietly.

Lord Jesus, it is hard for me to value YOU more than everything else. It is hard to let go of all the things I have valued and sought after. In recent days it has become clear to me how fragile everything in life is in reality. So easily shattered. So easily loss. Knowing YOU Jesus is really all that is solid. Help me see this. Remember, I am but dust. Help me to know YOU and the power of the resurrection so that I might bring YOUR life into my life. Amen

3rd Reading: What is God's personal invitation for you from the Scripture? You can write down what God may be saying to you or a prayer of thanks. Or rest quietly in God.

Trust nothing but me Norm, I am YOUR righteousness and life. Trust me in the dark.

2) "One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple… My heart says of you, 'Seek his face!' Your face, Lord, I will seek" (Psalm 27:4,
