Meditation on Psalm 23:4

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4).

1st Reading: What is one word or phrase the Holy Spirit impresses on you? Meditate on that.

2nd Reading: Enter into the Scripture passage. What do you feel? What specific situation in your life today relates? Write down a prayer or pray quietly.

3rd Reading: What is God's personal invitation for you from the Scripture? You can write down what God may be saying to you or a prayer of thanks. Or rest quietly in God.

Fear no evil

LORD, help my confidence in YOU as my shepherd increase so that my fear of all the evil that can come to my life will decrease. LORD Shepherd, it is easier for me to fear than to trust in YOUR power to comfort me. Help me look more on YOU than the potential dangers of living “East of Eden”. Pour YOUR comfort into my heart by diverting my focus from the valley of shadows to the wonder of YOUR resurrected power and love. Amen

3rd Reading: What is God's personal invitation for you from the Scripture? You can write down what God may be saying to you or a prayer of thanks. Or rest quietly in God.

Norm, don’t fear evil
