Meditation on Philippians 4:6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

1st Reading: What is one word or phrase the Holy Spirit impresses on you? Meditate on that.

2nd Reading: Enter into the Scripture passage. What do you feel? What specific situation in your life today relates? Write down a prayer or pray quietly.

3rd Reading: What is God's personal invitation for you from the Scripture? You can write down what God may be saying to you or a prayer of thanks. Or rest quietly in God.

Do not be anxious

2nd Reading: Enter into the Scripture passage. What do you feel? What specific situation in your life today relates? Write down a prayer or pray quietly.

LORD, my heart is anxious. Strangely, many things have happened that should make me less anxious, but yet the feelings of dread seem to be growing even as the circumstances are improving. Lord, help me cast on YOU all the things that burden me and even the feelings that seem to be untouched by better events. Let YOUR peace guard me both when I am awake and sleep. Be my peace great LORD. Give me a thankful heart and trust in YOUR ability to hear my prayers. Lord, YOU are good, great, and full of merciful grace. Let me rest in YOU as my refuge. Amen

3rd Reading: What is God's personal invitation for you from the Scripture? You can write down what God may be saying to you or a prayer of thanks. Or rest quietly in God.

Do not be afraid, Peace!
