Lent Meditation Phl 2:12-16

Lent Meditation

[Phl 2:12-16 NASB] 12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. 14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

1st Reading: What is one word or phrase the Holy Spirit impresses on you? Meditate on that.

2nd Reading: Enter into the Scripture passage. What do you feel? What specific situation in your life today relates? Write down a prayer or pray quietly.

3rd Reading: What is God's personal invitation for you from the Scripture? You can write down what God may be saying to you or a prayer of thanks. Or rest quietly in God.

My musing

for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure

2nd Reading: Enter into the Scripture passage. What do you feel? What specific situation in your life today relates? Write down a prayer or pray quietly.

LORD, help me live in the fear of YOU. Let me know I must give an account to YOU. Keep me from the insanity that I can escape YOU as the ultimate reality of reality.

Change me, work in me, be in me living Christ/Messiah. YOU are my hope of change. Make me light and not darkness. Let my life from this day forward give YOU pleasure. Forgive me my past transgressions. May my life give YOU pleasure. Amen

3rd Reading: What is God's personal invitation for you from the Scripture? You can write down what God may be saying to you or a prayer of thanks. Or rest quietly in God.

I am at work in you.
