Lent day Five

Lent day Five

5) "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge" (Psalm 62:5-8).

Do a Sacred Reading to prepare for Lent
Lectio Divina Rhythms/Process (Repeat three times):

(a) Read the Scripture passage out loud ("Lectio")
(b) Read the passage again; Reflect on the focus question below ("Meditatio")
(c) Read the passage again: Respond in quiet prayer/journaling ("Oratio")
(d) Rest in God's invitation for you to read your journal out loud to yourself ("Contemplatio")

1st Reading: What is one word or phrase the Holy Spirit impresses on you? Meditate on that.

O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge

2nd Reading: Enter into the Scripture passage. What do you feel? What specific situation in your life today relates? Write down a prayer or pray quietly.

Good, great, and merciful Father in heaven in Messiah Jesus, help me depend on YOU alone to be my security, strength, and salvation. I do feel shaken. Help me find my sanity ad stability in YOU. Help me trust in YOU at all times. I run to YOU, hold me close to YOUR heart. Amen

3rd Reading: What is God's personal invitation for you from the Scripture? You can write down what God may be saying to you or a prayer of thanks. Or rest quietly in God.

Trust and depend on ME! Rest in ME! Hope in ME!
